PneuVIEW® and PneuView® XE™ eliminates the toxic by-products from laser tissue combustion including:
- Carbon monoxide
- Creosol
- Phenol
- Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons
- Hydrogen cyanide
- Acrolein
- Formaldehyde
which coincidentally are the same toxic materials found in cigarette smoke.
Healthcare workers and patients both are exposed to these toxic by-products during laparoscopy. Surgical masks when sealed air tight protect against particulates to 0.3 microns but do not afford control of volatile chemicals, vapors or aerosols.
